❝ The most beautiful saree I own. You can feel the craft the moment you touch it. ❞ - Sonal, Bangalore

The Paithani is Maharashtra's most treasured textile — and one of India's oldest living weave traditions.

Named after the town of Paithan on the banks of the Godavari, this saree has been woven for over 2,000 years. Its hallmark: the iconic peacock motifs in the pallu and border, rendered in pure silk with a lustre that shifts with every movement. Each colour combination is chosen to make the peacock's feathers shimmer.

  • Fabric: Authentic handwoven silk — smooth, lustrous, with a characteristic two-toned shimmer
  • Motifs: Traditional peacock (mor) motifs in the pallu and border — a symbol of grace and prosperity
  • Colour palette: Rich, jewel-toned combinations chosen to maximise the iridescent quality of the silk
  • Technique: Paithani handweaving — a GI-tagged craft from Paithan, Maharashtra
  • Occasion: Weddings, Maharashtrian ceremonies, festive occasions, heirloom gifting
  • Origin: Paithan, Aurangabad, Maharashtra

A Paithani is not bought. It is chosen — for a wedding, for a daughter, for a moment that deserves to be remembered.

GI-tagged. Handwoven. 2,000 years in the making.
